I’ve been in love with nighttime bridal portraits ever since my friend Tiffany posed for hers last fall. She looked beautiful in her dress and the lighting created an elegant atmosphere that would have been lost during daylight hours in the sunshine.

My favorite thing happening right now in the wedding industry is brides and grooms saying “the heck” with tradition and going for a more creative approach.

What is Pinterest? It lets you organize and share the things you love and find online. This site is a virtual pinboard perfect for brides planning a wedding. You can even create categories (like we did) for different aspects of your wedding like cakes, dresses, etc.

I have probably seen at least 20 weddings in the last 10 years. Most of them, I have been a part of in some way. Each is special and unique in its own right….

A friend recently asked me for advice on planning the perfect bachelorette party.

Nothing symbolizes the union of the marriage better than the couple’s first dance. It is not only an important moment for the new bride and her groom, but also for the family and friends witnessing the dance.

Ok ladies, here’s something to think about before you get married. You obviously love your soon-to-be husband, and (hopefully) you’re committing to him the rest of your life. But are you ready to commit to his family?

I have always loved outdoor weddings, even had one myself, but the closer I got to the “big day” the more I was obsessed with all things weather. I tuned into to every newscast a week prior to the wedding, logged probably 40 hours on weatherchannel.com and had to many “what if” conversations with anyone who would listen.

Let’s face it — weddings are expensive. And many brides are concerned about every dollar they spend. So what’s a bride to do in this troubled economy?
Take a deep breath and think about what is important to you. Not your best friend and not your mom, but YOU. And maybe your groom-to-be. I guess he should have a say, too.
